Cala Violina

Cala Violina beach is located between Follonica and Punta Ala (both about 10 km away), inside the Bandite di Scarlino Nature Reserve. How to get to Cala Violina? It can be reached via two routes: from the side of the Puntone by bike (rather tiring) along a stupendous path after entering the bar of Portiglioni (just after the port of Scarlino); or more easily on the side of Pian d'alma, where by car or motorbike along the provincial road 158, it will be sufficient to follow the signs. From SP 158 you will enter a dirt path that you will travel for about 1 km and then you will find the parking lot. However, consider that the beach of Cala Violina is located within a nature reserve, and parking for cars and motorcycles is limited, so it is advisable to arrive early in the morning or in the late afternoon, to avoid finding the complete parking and wait for someone to come out. Once you have parked the car, to access the beach you have to walk a 1.5 km long path in the pine forest, it takes 20 to 30 minutes, comfortable shoes are recommended.
